6 Tips To Naturally Reduce Bloating
Do you ever have days where your belly bloats so much you look like you’re carrying a food baby? Or your stomach hurts and you’re extra gassy? Or maybe you just feel a little uncomfortable at the end of the day. Well, we get it because we have felt all of these things and more. We’ve been on our own journey to reduce bloat and while it still happens once in a while, we’ve got our bloat under control. Are you ready to say bye to bloat?
Here are our top tips to naturally reduce a bloated belly:
1. Focus on how you eat.
Take a few deep belly breaths to relax and move your body into a rest and digest state. Sit at your dining table to eat meals, not in front of the computer, put away your phone and turn the TV off. You want to be present and tune into your body while you eat so that you know when you are full and your body can focus on digesting.
2. Try not to snack throughout the day.
If you are constantly snacking, you aren’t giving your digestive system time to relax before your next meal. Try to have 3-4 large meals with at least 20 grams of protein each and leave 3 hours in between each meal. It’s not a good idea to be sipping on a latte all day either…
We also recommend leaving 12 hours between your last meal and first meal of the day. Eating too close to your bed time can negatively affect your sleep.
3. Stay hydrated.
The body is over 60% water which means it needs to be hydrated to perform its normal body functions such as digestion and elimination. Try to drink at least 2-3 litres of water each day, preferably filtered.
4. Move your body.
Incorporating your favourite way to move each day will help your lymphatic system, digestion, mental and overall health. Going for a walk, especially after you eat, will also help with digestion, bloat, and lowering your blood sugar.
5. Avoid your food sensitivities.
Everyone has their own food sensitivities or allergies and it’s best to avoid these as much as possible. Gluten, dairy, and alcohol are hard for most people’s bodies to process. Try reducing or cutting these out and see how you feel!
6. Get regular lymphatic drainage treatments.
Bombody Brazilian Lymphatic Drainage treatments help to heal your digestive system and reduce bloating. By moving lymphatic fluid the body is detoxing, increasing metabolism and moving the fluids into balance. After one session you will notice results!
Making small changes each day will help a new habit stick so choose one of these tips to focus on first, see if it makes a difference and then start adding another. And remember that stressing about your bloating will only make it worse.
